Giorgos Moschos studied Law in Athens and Criminology in London. He was trained in the fields of adult education, youth work, self-awareness and drama for children. Since 1984 he has been working in Greece for the defence of children’s rights, prevention of young persons’ social exclusion, youth empowerment and re-integration and children’s expression through drama. He is a co-founder of the non-governmental organisation ARSIS (Association for the Social Support of Youth). In 2003, he was appointed as the first Deputy Ombudsman for Children’s Rights within the Greek Ombudsman (Citizen’s Advocate) independent authority. He was twice re-appointed to the position, and served until 2018. In 2006 he was elected Chairman of the European Network of Ombdusmen for Children. He is co-author of books and articles on children’s and youth rights.
