The Association of Male and Paternal Dignity, or SYGAPA (Syllogos gia tin Antriki kai Patriki Axioprepeia) was founded in 2005 and claims it has over 30.000 members in 25 Greek cities and towns. It describes itself as a “movement for defending the rights of the father and the child”. Despite its claims, it does not appear to influence the public discussion on family law, after several members left it in 2006 to found GON.IS.
