The Ministry of Health is the government department responsible for public health, supervising public hospitals and the Greek National Health System, and overseeing all matters related to the provision of health services. In the past, the Ministry was connected with other areas of government, i.e. Ministry of Health and Social Solidarity (2004–2012), Ministry of Health and Social Security (January 2015–September 2015).
